Wye Security Solutions passed the all important audit by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) for its Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) in July this year.
Passing the audit means that we have proved that we meet all the necessary conditions that enable us to deliver security services to the proscribed standards.
And it is not an easy thing to pass, it covering a whole host of business operations, which themselves have nothing to do with security, but show that the business is being run in the correct way (as well as of course, examining the services we provide). For example, we had to demonstrate that our bookkeeping and invoicing systems were up to standard and that we were paying VAT and all other appropriate taxes.
We also had to prove that we looked after our staff and their welfare, paid the correct level of pension contributions and had an active health and safety policy.
Plus, when it came to being able to deliver security solutions, we had to prove that we vetted all staff members in the correct manner; this to ensure that they did themselves not present any danger to our customers and that they could carry out their duties to the highest level. The level of customer satisfaction was also checked (we are proud to say we have lots of happy long term customers).
The methods used to ensure the safety our staff when they were working alone had to be approved, this being an important issue in relation to our mobile patrols.
Our patrol vehicles were also checked to make sure they were fit for purpose (ours are almost brand new).
Besides all of this, we had to demonstrate that all our internal procedures were adequate, in that our keyholding systems (and the identification process of anyone who requested access to a key) were safe, as were the details of all customer identities. In fact, just about all our documentation systems had to be checked and approved.
On top of all of this, every staff member was interviewed, special attention being applied in the case of the management team.
All of this took 3 days, and we are pleased to say that after these intense and exhaustive checks, Wye Security passed and were yet again given Approved Contractor status.
